Brazil - ATA Carnet Operation

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY - 4 June 2021

Notification has been received from the ICC World Chambers Federation ATA Carnet Secretariat that the ATA Carnet operation in Brazil will have to be suspended as of 1 July 2021, until further notice. 

                             
 IMPORTANT

• United Kingdom:  ATA Carnets applied for and issued to travel to Brazil may be used for U.K. Registration at export and re-importation back into the U.K.
• Brazil:  ATA Carnets to Brazil will be issued at a reduced bond cost as the carnet will no longer be accepted by Brazil.
• Boomerang carnet customers will have exclusive access to our TIB (Temporary Importation Bond) program applicable to hand-carry, accompanying baggage and cargo items in the interim.

If goods already admitted into Brazil under ATA Carnet need to stay longer than 30 June 2021, there will be no extensions of time or replacement carnets issued.  You must re-export the goods or regularize the carnet with Brazilian Customs.
