Digital Carnet Issuance Begins

Received 13 July 2026 – UKNATACO communication – “there is no longer any need to keep issuing backup paper Carnets if the itinerary includes only digital countries.”

The United Kingdom, European Union member states, Norway, and Switzerland have begun implementing the digital ATA Carnet system as part of the International Chamber of Commerce's (ICC) global digitisation initiative.

During this transition period, both digital and paper ATA Carnets remain fully valid and accepted by participating Customs authorities, allowing for a smooth and gradual transition to the new system.

We now offer the right Carnet solution for your journey. Depending on your destination countries and their Customs requirements, we can provide digital, paper, or both ATA Carnets, when required.
