Turkey Changes its Official Name to Türkiye
The London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), the national guaranteeing organisation for ATA Carnets in the UK, announced that Turkey has officially changed its name to Türkiye. Additionally, the National Guaranteeing Association of Türkiye is now the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB).
This change does not affect the ATA Carnets which are currently in use.
The new name of the country and its national guaranteeing association will be indicated in the Carnet green cover sheets.
The ATA Carnet is an internationally accepted customs document for temporarily exported merchandise, goods, or professional equipment and allows cross border movement of goods import-duty and -tax free into any of the 87+ carnet countries and territories for up to a year. Türkiye accepts the ATA Carnet for commercial samples, professional equipment and trade fairs and exhibitions.
