UK, EU, CH & NO Launch Digital Carnet

Digital ATA Carnets (eATA Carnets) launched on 1 June 2026. 

The United Kingdom, European Union member states, Norway, and Switzerland have begun implementing the digital ATA Carnet system as part of the International Chamber of Commerce's (ICC) global digitalization initiative.

As this transition is being carried out in phases, both digital and paper Carnets are currently accepted and processed by participating customs authorities. Paper Carnets remain fully legal and valid throughout the transition period.

While we are gradually introducing digital Carnets to our customers, we continue to recommend and issue paper Carnets during this transition period. This approach ensures the smoothest possible customs clearance experience while customs authorities and Carnet users adapt to the new digital process.
